It’s Christmastime again
parties to attend
with family and with friends
Come
gather by the fire
Listen to our choir
raise your glasses higher
Time
To decorate tree
With your family
in loving charity
Sing
With Resounding joy
With Resounding joy
With Resounding joy
It’s Christmastime again
Soon the year will end
And begin again

Who’s madder than the mad hatter?
Who’s angry and has good cause?
Who’s grumpier then the grinch?
I’m pretty sure it’s Mrs. Claus
She’s the brains behind the business
She’s Santa’s Shop’s backbone
Santa’s workshop is slowing sinking
And Santa works from home
(Chorus)
The North Pole is home to Santa, it sits on a big old sheet of ice
But the ice is slowly melting, Santa’s gonna need a floatation device
The snow’s fallen here for thousands of centuries
Long before hunters and gatherers roamed
Mrs. Claus has seen the documentaries
Documenting her melting home
She’s trading Santa’s reindeer for porpoise
Trading his sleigh for a big old boat
She’s writing up a habeus corpus
‘Cause she’s a prisoner of this melting moat
Who’s madder than the mad hatter?
Who wants there to be better laws
Who wants to save Santa’s workshop
I’m pretty sure it’s Mrs. Claus
I’m pretty sure it’s Mrs. Claus
You know it’s Mrs. Claus

Turnin’off the highway, feels good to be back home
Everyone’s a little older, even the kids are grown
Time feels like an ocean, filled with memories of old
Say hello when you see ‘em, and goodbye when they go
Through another year the autumn slips away
And that old empty parking lot puts some trees out on display
A few last-minute gifts in a decorated store
And I’m suddenly reminded of old feelings I’d ignored
When they turn on the lights for Christmas
That little slice of magic that you get to feel inside
When you’re back to where you came from, and the old and new collide
We’ll be dancing ‘round the kitchen, maybe laughing ‘round the TV
Kids are playing, glasses clinking, brothers talking, Dad drinking
Dogs begging at Mom’s feet
We’ll decorate the tree, put an angel in the sky
And say Peace On Earth to everyone, and everyone’ll be alright
Stockings by the fire, a little manger through the stall
Reminds me there’s a holy child sleeping in my heart
When they turn on the lights for Christmas
It’s only a reminder, it’s just another sign
To get you back to who you were and what you left behind
Yeah, Christmas is for everyone, don’t matter who you are
It reminds you there’s a holy child sleeping in your heart
And they turn on the lights
And your eyes smile bright
Oh holy night

Tonight is the longest night
Dawn is miles away
I’ve got no one to hold me tight
No, I’m not okay
All the stores play jingle bells
But there’s no snow anymore
And there’s no joy in anything
You can buy inside a store
All I want for Christmas
But I doubt it’s even real
All I want for Christmas
Is a Christmas I can feel
Childhood felt so magical
Snowflakes on my tongue
Shivers when I saw that tree
And when those songs were sung
All those dreams that filled my head
Perished one by one
All those people now are gone
And left me here alone
(Chorus)
I want to believe that it’s just me
And other hearts still soar
But maybe that’s just a fantasy
I can’t buy it anymore
All I want for Christmas
But I doubt it’s even real
All I want for Christmas
All I want for Christmas
All I want for Christmas
Is a Christmas I can feel

Late on the longest night of the year
In total darkness , you just see the fear
What is the measure of what I have done
One year to another on and on
How do I greet it, beginning or end?
Like an old lover and no-longer friend?
What is the measure of what I have done
One year to another on and on
All I can hope for is a life well lived
That I might treasure the love that I give
No shame in failing so long as I’ve tried
Living in the here and now, true to what’s inside
True to what’s inside
What is the measure of what I might be
One year to another the mystery,
The mystery
Late on the longest night of the year
Out of the darkness the light reappears
The light reappears
The light reappears

Drink up, spend time with the ones you love
Touch cups, Cheers, Kompai, Salud, come and give me a hug
Line up, pose for the camera, let’s remember this moment
Lala la lala la la, lala la lala la la la
Spend time with the ones you love, and drink up
The radio’s playing Santa Claus Is Coming to Town
But you know there’s all kinds of traditions, all sorts of ways to get down
And yes, it’s true, not everyone grew up lighting a tree
But in the end, no matter how you do it,
no matter your religiosity
It’s all about the family, so you might as well just
Drink up, spend time with the ones you love
Touch cups, Cheers, Kompai, Salud, come and give me a hug
Line up, pose for the camera, let’s remember this moment
La lala lala la la, lala la lala la la la
Spend time with the ones you love, and drink up
Oh Drink up
We got Kwanzaa, and Diwali, and the Solstice too,
We got Chanukah, Christmas
And we even got Festivus and remember our Atheists are like the rest of us
Sing it with me, go La lala lala la la, lala la lala la la la
Spend time with the ones you love, cause it’s all about the family
Drink up, Spend time with the ones you love
Touch cups, Cheers, Kompai, Salud, come and give me a hug
Line up, pose for a picture, let’s remember this moment
Lala la lala la la, lala la lala la la la
Spend time with the ones you love, and drink up

The calendabra’s covered/ in melted wax of many colors
The debris of hopes we had for a good year
my blessings burned into the vapor, went up like fire in paper
But I’m still here, we’re still here
I try to go about my business/ Each night I do the dishes
In the ruins of a mission unfulfilled
Tonight we watch these candles glisten/ but if we're quiet enough to listen
First be still/ And then we will/Rebuild
Once our fathers built a temple/ where the righteous would assemble
And they had a line that went direct to G-d
But the idolators invaded/ And our walls they desecrated
And hope was gone, hope was gone
But it took that occupation/ To restore their dedication
Our fathers chased the army to the hills
We light these candles to remember/ In this deepest dark December
What they instilled/And so we will/rebuild
My finest China's broken/ and the air is full of smoke
And my flame is burning low
But no matter how far down I’ve fallen, I can bounce of the bottom
It's the only way I know
Be gone, this angry grammar/ It’s time to lift a hammer
My holster’s got a measure and a drill
We light these candles to remind us/ That our work is not behind us
First be still/ And then we will/ rebuild

Have to find a holiday somewhere
Have to find a sweater I can wear
Have to find a book that I can share
Have to feel the spirit in the air
Ahh, Ahh, Ahh
Get your friends together
Call their numbers, say hello
You’ll be feeling better
If you loosen up and go
Have to find a holiday {x4}
Have to find a holiday somewhere
Have to taste the snowflakes in the air
Have to show a smile here and there
Have some cocoa in my favorite chair
Ahh, Ahh, Ahh
Get your faith together
Call your power from the trees
You’ll be feeling better
If you loosen up and breathe

Yesterday was New Year's Eve,
I walked through the crowd with a flower
I wanted so badly to believe we would meet at our appointed hour
I scanned the faces all around
Everybody was having fun
But alas! My love could not be found as we counted down to one
10, 9, 8, I just couldn't wait
7, 6, 5, I was glad to be alive
4, 3, 2, all I thought about was you
But when they counted down to 1, we're all done
10, 9, 8, I just couldn't wait
7, 6, 5, I was glad to be alive
4, 3, 2, all I thought about was you
But then they counted down to 1, now we're all done
There she stood in a state of bliss
A look of joy upon her face
As she was leaning in for her first kiss my broken heart was launched into space
The night went black as she kissed his lips
The stars were bright but so far away
As the countdown echoed in my rocket ship
Now I float through space on New Year's Day
10, 9, 8, I just couldn't wait
7, 6, 5, I was glad to be alive
4, 3, 2, all I thought about was you
But when they counted down to 1, we're all done
10, 9, 8, I just couldn't wait
7, 6, 5, I was glad to be alive
4, 3, 2, all I thought about was you
But then they counted down to 1, we're all done

Rain-stars on my windshield
They shine only when I am sad
Oh the truth, the beauty
Oh the truth, the beauty
Double life
Thinking that snowflakes look like explosions
Tiny but real
Tiny but so real
And the whole universe exists in precipitation

This second compilation of songs performed by Philadelphia-area musicians- P.E.A.C.E. (Philadelphia Entertaining Artists Community Endeavor)- follows up on 2019's inaugural effort. While less expansive than 2019's collection, due to limitations imposed by the COVID19 pandemic, this 2020 volume extends the tradition by providing fresh new original holiday music from an all-new set of artists not included on the 2019 album. Please click on the individual tracks for songwriter and performer credits, artist info, and artist websites. This collection was conceived, curated, and constructed by Matthew Gordon, one of the more than 30 musicians and 10 acts contributing to this album, to showcase a wide range of holiday emotions and musical styles represented by the rich Philadelphia regional music scene. In the spirit of the holidays, you may stream or download the collection for free! However, we would appreciate your downloading and making a contribution, of which the proceeds will be matched and donated to local charities that help the homeless and home-challenged, including PhilAbundance in Philadelphia (50%), and Habitat For Humanity of the Philadelphia region (50%).
All song copyrights are retained by the artists. Songs and recordings in this collection shall not be sold or re-used commercially in any fashion without the express written permission of the artist. Artists may be contacted directly thru the websites listed for each track. Please be sure to purchase their music directly from their websites and attend their shows!
